Biden’s presidency needs a lifeline, and his name could be Hillary

Here are three things Joe Biden can do to save his train wreck from a presidency:

1. Obtain the retirement of 82-year-old US Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.

2. Appoint Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him.

3. Next, name Hillary Clinton, 74, to take Harris’ place.

If Joe has gone too far to get re-elected in 2024 – assuming he’s still in office – then Vice President Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic presidential candidate.

In the meantime, Harris would become the first black woman to sit on the Supreme Court, and Democrats would be happy to rule out underachieving Harris.

In the event someone gets Biden to sign a letter of resignation, or if he is removed from office by the 25th Amendment, Hillary, as the new vice-president, will ascend to the presidency without an election.

This rarely used amendment allows a majority of cabinet members to notify Congress that the president is unable to perform his duties and must be replaced.

Either way, Hillary Clinton would run for president in 2024 and face – and seek revenge – against Donald Trump, who of course would run again. He is the man who both defeated and humiliated her in 2016. The event would be the Super Bowl of Grudge Fights.

Wacky? May be.

But we live in strange times when anything is possible, including the return of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, both of whom believe their electoral victories have been ‘stolen’ from them – Hillary in 2016 and Trump in 2020.

Hillary Clinton is already warming up. That’s why she gave her 2016 Election Night “victory” speech last week as part of the MasterClass TV series.

She said: “In this lesson, I will face one of my most public defeats head-on by sharing with you the speech I had hoped to deliver if I had won the 2016 election.”

“I never shared this with anyone,” she said. “I never read it aloud.” Then, as a practice for 2024, she did so.

Of course, before all of that happens, left-wing judge Breyer would have to retire. He’s being targeted by progressives who want him out of the way so Biden can appoint a progressive successor while Democrats still control the Senate, even with the tiniest of margins.

The Liberals also criticized Breyer for his critical remarks about the progressive proposal to expand or fill the Supreme Court with justices who favor their agenda.

Relying on the possibility that the GOP could take control of the Senate in the 2022 Congressional election, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said it was “highly unlikely” that the Senate would confirm a candidate for the Senate. Supreme Court in the midst of the 2024 presidential election.

McConnell refused President Barack Obama to vote on his Supreme Court candidate in 2016 because it was a presidential election year. It was then that Obama appointed Merrick Garland to the post. Garland is now Biden’s attorney general. Republicans kept the seat empty until Trump was elected and filled the vacancy with Neil Gorsuch.

Thirteen progressive groups, including Black Lives Matter, the Sunrise movement, Demand Justice and Women’s March, released a statement saying Breyer should step down.

“With the future control of a tightly divided Senate uncertain,” the statement said, “President Biden must be given the opportunity to appoint a successor without delay and keep his promise to place the first black woman on the Supreme Court.

“If Breyer were replaced by additional ultra-conservative justice, an even more right-wing Supreme Court would leave our democracy and the rights of marginalized communities even more at risk.

“For the sake of the country, now is the time to step aside,” the group said.

Even US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is forced to comment on everything. came out against Breyer.

Justice Breyer, a staunch Liberal, was appointed to the High Court 27 years ago by President Bill Clinton. Previously, President Jimmy Carter had appointed him to the United States Court of Appeals. He is a liberal Democrat appointed to two judicial posts by two liberal Democratic presidents. Senator Joe Biden has undoubtedly voted to confirm it both times.

Now, for the progressives, it’s just an old white man who stands in their way.

Hang in there, my brother.
